Friday:

Played with bubble.us to develop a schematic for the Blaze squad kids to outline their tasks.I was trying to develop a flow chart that showed what their main jobs are and then some of the key details about each. Thought this might be easier for some students to understand as there is less text. Not finished yet.

Went to the session on data bases. I knew they were there, and that they were good, but I have not taken enough time to look through to see just how good they are. I really enjoyed browsing through some of them. I must make more time to do this.

Saturday:

Learned more about Vista and how to use the system in the computer lab. Just needed to understand the subtle differences between Vista and XP. Also looked through Word 2007 and a little of Excel 2007. They have some fantastic new features.

Completed my mind map for the Team liaison Officers for the Blaze squad, and started maps for other jobs on the squad. Discovered a few problems, probably mine - I need to see if these can be resolved, or else try an alternative program, such as Inspiration. The difficulties were:
- no idea of the size of the mind map on the page - I had it too squashed, but finding the right spacing was trial and error.
- I can't work out how/if the font size can be changed. It looks fine on the screen but is very small when printed.
- Tried to save it to post here, but when I opened the saved file it was blank.
If anyne can help me with any of these problems I would be very grateful.

Science faculty developed a draft team goal. To be revisited and agreed upon when we ae all there. In essence - a Wiki to which we all post information about technologies we use or find which may be useful.

Overall - it was great to have the opportunity to be able to spend time trying out some of the programs, and to improve my ability to navigate through Vista.
